On August 12th, I had a powerful dream over which i had little to no control. I didn't recall it until I fell asleep, but this was a continuation of a dream that I first had on August 11th, as soon as I started dreaming, I recalled the prior night's dream. - Start dream - The dream was increasingly frustrating throughout as myself and five of my closest friends from my pool team face impossible tasks and puzzles in a dimension with no apparent physical boundaries. My job involves solving complex puzzles for the military, so there are times that the dream takes on the feel of a sensitive military operation, so I immediately feel comfortable in my surroundings and like I'm making progress leading my team through the challenges. At some point, I'm violently reminded that there is no way for me to solve these puzzles, so my frustration turns to sadness realizing that I won't be able to keep my friends safe. Then I wake up feeling incredibly powerless. I feel like my recently deceased friend is trying to communicate with me via the dream. - End dream - Some background to aid in interpretation: 1. My friend (Terry), who was a longtime member of my pool team, lost a multi-year battle with cancer and passed away. 2. I was on travel from 3-10 August, so while I made it to the mass and rosary, I missed her funeral. 3. The dream started on my first night back home (10 AUG). 4. Last night, we had a pool game at our home bar. As I was aligning my shot on the 8-ball, the cue ball, which has been at a complete stop, suddenly rolled forward and inch, without being touched. I was the only person that saw it, but I went back and found it on our bar CCTV, it definitely happened. I have a scientific/analytical background, so I did check for seismic activity, which there was none. 5. Terry's sister, Kat, nonchalantly told me that Terry had visited me. This gave me a powerful wave of emotions and I have visible goosebumps for the next 30 minutes. I sent the video to Marge, Terry's other sister, and she told me the same thing. 6. I have never seen a ghost and, before tonight, I wouldn't have believed in them. 7. I am married, my wife and I have started to grow apart over the last 4-5 years, to the that it feels like we're roommates. We do still love each other and are great friends, but there's little intimacy in our relationship. 8. On a couple of occasions, I have had intimate encounters with Marge, Terry's sister. I do believe that I'm possibly in love with her. QUESTION: Describe puzzles/tasks and why it made you feel like you were in a military operation. ANSWER: For example, our team would be trapped in a building with no exit, which seemed like a maze. Or we had to catch up to someone running though the woods in the dark. There were parts of the dream that took place in a military base type setting, although some of the technology seemed far too advanced to be military, or in a setting that reminded me of my time in military intelligence.
